BATHROOM RENOVATION & DESIGN SERVICE IN REIGATE

Reigate is a medieval market town at the foot of the North Downs, and its housing stock tells the story of centuries of development. The historic core around the High Street, Bell Street, and Castle Grounds contains timber-framed cottages, Georgian townhouses, and the kind of period properties you’d expect in a town that’s been continuously inhabited since the Norman conquest. Victorian and Edwardian villas line the roads radiating out from the centre, particularly around Reigate Hill and Wray Common, built when the railway turned this part of Surrey into commuter territory. Further out, 1930s family homes in Woodhatch and South Park, substantial country houses on the slopes leading up to the Surrey Hills, and more recent executive developments complete the picture.

That range of property ages and styles means bathroom renovation in Reigate covers everything from careful period restoration to a straightforward modern upgrade. An old cottage near the High Street might have low ceilings, uneven floors, and walls that are anything but straight. A Victorian villa on Reigate Hill will have generous proportions but original plumbing configurations that weren’t designed for the way we use bathrooms now. And the larger country houses towards the Downs often have multiple bathrooms that need a coordinated design approach to maintain a consistent standard throughout the property.

We’ve completed over 1,000 bathroom renovations across Surrey, and Reigate sits well within our core service area. Projects here range from full bathroom schemes in the detached homes around Pilgrims Way and High Trees Road to en-suite additions in Victorian properties near Wray Common and cloakroom conversions in cottages off the High Street. Every project is personally overseen by Director Neil, and our in-house team of plumbers, electricians, tilers, and carpenters means you’re working with one company from first design meeting to final snagging, backed by our Fixed Price Promise.

About Simply Bathrooms & Interiors

Simply Bathrooms & Interiors is a family-run business led by Neil and Sophie Harrold. Sophie’s background is in Home Interiors Buying and Product Development, leading the design and marketing side of the business. Neil has over twenty years in construction and operational management, overseeing project delivery and the installation teams. Together they bring design innovation and practical execution to every Reigate bathroom we deliver.

RH2 housing covers Victorian villas around Reigate town centre, Edwardian semis through Wray Common and period cottages across the Reigate town conservation area, alongside a strong stock of inter-war and modern detached homes, where varied wall constructions, original floor finishes and protected façades all factor into a bathroom design.

Behind the partnership sits a team of specialist tradespeople, including plumbers, electricians, plasterers, carpenters and tilers, alongside dedicated project managers and installers. Bathrooms are one of the most complex areas of the home to renovate, and the coordination across trades is what allows us to deliver bespoke solutions that excel in both function and beauty.

From initial consultation to final installation we apply the same care and precision to every project, with a relentless focus on customer satisfaction. We also cover Guildford, Epsom and Cobham under the same package.

REIGATE AREA COVERAGE

We cover all of the RH2 postcode and the surrounding areas, including Reigate town centre, Reigate Hill, Wray Common, South Park, Woodhatch, Meadvale, and the properties along Pilgrims Way towards the Surrey Hills. We also serve neighbouring Redhill, Dorking, Leatherhead, Banstead, and Epsom, along with the wider Surrey service areas of Guildford, Woking, Cobham, and Weybridge.

Reigate and Banstead Borough has 25 designated conservation areas, with Article 4 Directions served on most of them. In and around Reigate itself, these cover the historic town centre, Reigate Hill, Wray Common, and several other areas of architectural or historic interest. Properties within these conservation areas may require planning permission for external changes that would normally be permitted elsewhere, including replacement windows, roof coverings, and alterations to front elevations. Our team understands these requirements and factors them into your project from the outset. Properties on the edges of the North Downs and within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty may also face additional landscape considerations.

READY READY TO TRANSFORM YOUR REIGATE BATHROOM?

Book your initial consultation today and discover how Simply Bathrooms & Interiors can create your perfect bathroom space.

Begin with our telephone consultation where we’ll discuss your vision, budget, and timeline. We’ll assess your property type, whether it’s a period cottage near the High Street, a Victorian villa around Reigate Hill, a 1930s family home in Woodhatch, or a country house on the slopes towards the Surrey Hills, and recommend the best service package for your needs.

The design phase typically takes 4–6 weeks from initial consultation to final sign-off. Once approved, product ordering takes 2–3 weeks. Installation timelines vary:

  • Small bathroom refresh: Approximately 3 weeks
  • Standard renovation: 3–4 weeks
  • Complex renovation with structural changes: 4–6 weeks

Period properties in Reigate’s conservation areas can take slightly longer, particularly where we encounter original features in older buildings or need to work within listed building constraints. Properties with multiple bathrooms being renovated simultaneously will also require a longer programme, though we can phase the work to keep disruption manageable.

Yes. Our studio is accessible from Reigate via the A25 and A217. We operate by appointment only, which ensures a designer is available to discuss your specific project. Bring room measurements, photos of your current space, and any inspiration images. Free parking is available.

Most internal bathroom renovations don’t require planning permission. However, Reigate and Banstead Borough has 25 conservation areas, and Article 4 Directions have been applied to most of them. This means that even changes which would normally count as permitted development, such as replacing windows or altering a front elevation, may need approval from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. If your property is also listed, internal changes that affect the character of the building will require listed building consent. We’ll advise on all of this during the design phase.

Yes — kitchen design and installation is part of our service alongside bathrooms. We work across our Surrey kitchen service area and South West London using the same five-meeting design process, in-house tradespeople, and Fixed Price Promise as our bathroom projects. For Reigate clients tackling kitchens and bathrooms together, having one team coordinating both means consistent design language across the home and a single point of contact throughout.
