BATHROOM RENOVATION & DESIGN SERVICE IN GUILDFORD

Guildford sits at the gateway to the Surrey Hills, where the River Wey cuts through one of the county’s most architecturally varied towns. The housing stock here spans centuries – Georgian townhouses along the upper High Street, Victorian terraces in the Charlotteville conservation area, Edwardian family homes towards Merrow and the Downs, and contemporary new-builds across the town centre.

That range of property styles means bathroom renovation in Guildford is rarely a simple swap-out. Period homes come with solid walls, dated plumbing hidden behind lathe and plaster, and room proportions that weren’t designed for modern fixtures. Newer builds have their own issues: compact en-suites, stud walls that limit mounting options, and developer layouts that prioritise speed over how you actually use the space.

We’ve completed over 1,000 bathroom renovations across Surrey, with Guildford projects ranging from full-house schemes in the Chantries and Onslow Village to compact cloakroom conversions in town centre apartments. Every project is personally overseen by Director Neil, and our in-house team of plumbers, electricians, tilers, and carpenters means you’re working with one company from first sketch to final snagging – backed by our Fixed Price Promise.

About Simply Bathrooms & Interiors

Simply Bathrooms & Interiors is a family-run business led by Neil and Sophie Harrold. Sophie’s background is in Home Interiors Buying and Product Development, leading the design and marketing side of the business. Neil has over twenty years in construction and operational management, overseeing project delivery and the installation teams. Together they bring design innovation and practical execution to every Guildford bathroom we deliver.

GU1, GU2 and GU3 housing runs from Tudor revival and Victorian terraces through Guildford town centre and Charlotteville, to Edwardian semis across Merrow, and modern estates through Burpham and Worplesdon, with the Guildford Town Centre and Charlotteville conservation areas shaping what can be done at the front of period properties.

Behind the partnership sits a team of specialist tradespeople, including plumbers, electricians, plasterers, carpenters and tilers, alongside dedicated project managers and installers. Bathrooms are one of the most complex areas of the home to renovate, and the coordination across trades is what allows us to deliver bespoke solutions that excel in both function and beauty.

From initial consultation to final installation we apply the same care and precision to every project, with a relentless focus on customer satisfaction. We also cover Woking, Reigate and Epsom under the same package.

GUILDFORD AREA COVERAGE

We cover all of the GU1, GU2, GU3, and GU4 postcodes, including Guildford town centre, Stoughton, Bellfields, Park Barn, Onslow Village, Merrow, Burpham, Jacobs Well, Worplesdon, Fairlands, and Wood Street Village. We also serve the surrounding villages of Shalford, Chilworth, Compton, Puttenham, the Clandons, Send, and Ripley.

Our team has extensive experience with Guildford’s varied property styles, from medieval cottages and Georgian townhouses through to Edwardian family homes and contemporary apartments. With 40 conservation areas across the borough – including the town centre, Charlotteville, and Onslow Village – many properties are subject to Article 4 directions, meaning even minor external changes may need planning approval from Guildford Borough Council. Our team factors these requirements into your project from the outset.

Our wider Surrey service area also covers Cobham, Weybridge, Reigate, and Epsom, with Director Neil and the team travelling across the county for projects of all sizes.

READY TO TRANSFORM YOUR GUILDFORD BATHROOM?

Book your initial consultation today and discover how Simply Bathrooms & Interiors can create your perfect bathroom space.

Begin with our telephone consultation where we’ll discuss your vision, budget, and timeline. We’ll assess your property type – whether it’s a Georgian townhouse near Castle Hill, a Victorian terrace in Charlotteville, an Edwardian home in Merrow, or a newer apartment in the town centre – and recommend the best service package for your needs.

The design phase typically takes 4–6 weeks from initial consultation to final sign-off. Once approved, product ordering takes 2–3 weeks. Installation timelines vary:

  • Small bathroom refresh: Approximately 3 weeks
  • Standard renovation: 3–4 weeks
  • Complex renovation with structural changes: 4–6 weeks

Period properties in Guildford’s conservation areas can take slightly longer, particularly where we encounter unexpected plumbing configurations or need to work carefully around original features.

Yes. Our studio is a short drive from Guildford via the A3, or accessible by a direct train from Guildford station. We operate by appointment only, which ensures a designer is available to discuss your specific project. Bring room measurements, photos of your current space, and any inspiration images. Free parking is available.

Most internal bathroom renovations don’t require planning permission. But if your property sits within one of Guildford’s 40 conservation areas or is a listed building, certain changes – particularly anything visible externally, like window alterations or new ventilation outlets – may need approval from Guildford Borough Council. We’ll flag this during the design phase if it applies to your property.

Everything from Georgian townhouses on the High Street and Victorian terraces in Charlotteville through to 1930s semis in Stoughton, new-build apartments in the town centre, and converted barns in the surrounding villages like Shalford, Compton, and the Clandons. Each property type brings different renovation challenges – solid walls, non-standard plumbing runs, water pressure limitations, conservation restrictions – and we assess all of this during our initial consultation so there are no surprises once work begins. Examples of our work across these property types can be seen in our project portfolio.

Yes. Alongside our bathroom work, we design and install kitchens across Surrey and South West London using the same in-house team and five-meeting design process. The Fixed Price Promise applies to kitchen projects as well, and for Guildford homeowners renovating multiple rooms at once, we can sequence the work to minimise disruption and keep one project team coordinating trades and specifications across the whole house.
